Penguins fans begin to gather at the stage.
Morgan, Bob, & John keep watch.
Iceburgh!
I make my way to the front of the stage to get a shot of the crowd. Great turnout!
Even more people than the last rally!
Bob, Morgan, & Kim smile.
Bob twirls his Penguins towel!
Kim sports her new Marc-Andre Fleury shirt.
The crowd holds up their "Bring Back the Cup" signs!
Morgan & Kim show their team spirit.
HUGE crowd!
WDVE's Val Porter gets things started.
A dude wearing a Penguin hat. Note the nice Evgeni Malkin cut-out in the background... defiled with a "Star 100.7" t-shirt. Despicable.
FSN's Paul Alexander says a few words.
The crowd chants "Let's Go Pens!"
Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl gets booed.
Kim chats with Morgan.
David Morehouse, President of the Penguins organization, drops in.
Dan Wholey, owner of Wholey's Fish Market in the Strip District, brings an octopus on stage to eat (the Detroit Red Wings are notorious for throwing octopus on the ice during the playoffs).
Mayor Ravenstahl doesn't look too happy about this. And by the way, be sure to check out Dan Wholey's efforts to prevent any octopus from being thrown onto the Mellon Arena ice!
A large plywood Red Wings logo is brought on stage (to loud boos!), complete with red feathers. But it doesn't last long...
Mayor Ravenstahl breaks out a chainsaw -- for real! -- and "clips the wings!"
WDVE's Val Porter closes out the rally with more "Let's Go Pens!" chants. Nice faux Stanley Cup, by the way!
We gather together for a group shot at the end of the rally.
Kim, Bob, & Morgan show their game faces! Nice tiger claw, Morgan!
I meander up to the stage and find some leftover octopus.
No time like now to try some... anything to throw off Detroit's mojo!
Down the hatch!
Not bad!
All gone!
Kim & I pose with Iceburgh. LET'S GO PENS!!!
